OUR STORY
2022 was a big year for us! On August 6, after more than ten years together, we got married in a small legal ceremony in our yard. Well, now we want to celebrate with you and hope you can make it to our not so small wedding reception!
The event is planned for Saturday, August 5 2023 at Glenora, a vineyard and inn in Dundee, NY, overlooking one of the beautiful Finger Lakes.
So, we’re hoping you’ll mark the date on your calendar and join us!
About the area
We are so excited to share one of our very favorite areas in the world with you. Maya first came to the Finger Lakes region for a job interview at Farm Sanctuary. She ended up writing a book (Our Farm: By the Animals of Farm Sanctuary) about the organization instead. Dietrich also became close to the organization and we have spent many wonderful days in the area, both at Farm Sanctuary and at Glenora (and elsewhere) in the years we’ve been together.

Our reception is planned at the Inn at Glenora, one of our favorite spots. The event will overlook gorgeous Seneca Lake where we may dine and dance through sunset and into the evening, with DJ Hi-Fi Hillary spinning.
We think you’ll agree that the Finger Lakes region is a stunningly beautiful area, and we hope you’ll consider staying longer than just the overnight for the reception. Check out the other pages of this site to plan your stay!
We’re planning a breakfast and tour at beautiful Farm Sanctuary the morning after the reception. You will learn all about this incredible organization that Maya wrote her book about and the best part: you’ll get to meet the animals who live there. Spots are limited, so please email us if you’d like to sign up for the visit. The breakfast and tour at Farm Sanctuary is Sunday, August 6 at 10am.

GETTING
THERE
TRANSPORTATION
Glenora is about 4 ½ hours by car from New York City, 4 hours from Poughkeepsie, and 4 ½ hours from Philadelphia, PA.
There is also an airport in Ithaca: Ithaca Tompkins International Airport.
The airport is about a 1-hour drive from our venue, offering direct flights to/from New York City (JFK and Newark airports). Transportation to/from the airport can be arranged for those who do not wish to rent a car.
If you’d like to take a bus, you may take a Greyhound or FlixBus from NYC to Ithaca. Then please let us know when you need to be picked up / dropped off and we will make those arrangements for you.

Farm Sanctuary
Farm Sanctuary has played a huge part in Maya and Dietrich’s life for their entire relationship. Maya wrote one of her children’s books, Our Farm, about the animals who call Farm Sanctuary home.
The reason the reception is in Dundee is because it’s close to Farm Sanctuary.
As a special treat, we are inviting you to breakfast at Farm Sanctuary, and for a tour to see this incredible place and meet the animals who live there.
Farm Sanctuary was the first sanctuary of its kind, rescuing farmed animals from abuse and neglect, as well as advocating for legislation to protect them. The organization has educated people since the 1980s about issues related to farmed animals and has inspired a movement of farmed animal sanctuaries opening across the United States and around the globe.
The Watkins Glen sanctuary, just a few minutes from our wedding venue is a very special and beautiful place, where we see what a world without violence looks like. We can spend time with animals who have experienced some of the most egregious cruelties, and are now living lives of peace.
Breakfast will be served at 10am on Sunday, August 6, followed by a tour of the sanctuary. Spots are limited, so please RSVP if you’d like to come!
